4.5.10 Temperature shock. Cartridge sample shall be placed in a chamber maintained at a temperature
of 250· F for 4 hours. Then within 5 minutes, the cartridges shall be transferred to a chamber at a temperature
of -65· F for 4 hours. This is one cycle. There shall be three complete cycles. The exposure time at each
extreme temperature shall not be less than 4 hours and may be extended overnight to prevent interruption of
the phase schedule. After the third cycle, the cartridges shall be ballistically tested and meet all requirements.
